Dr Ippokratis Sarris is a Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and the Director of King’s Fertility in London,
UK, as well as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London and the HFEA Person
Responsible for the unit. In these roles, he oversees the centre’s clinical, research, educational, and
regulatory activities.
Dr Sarris graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge, in 1999 and completed his medical degree at
Magdalen College, Oxford. He went on to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and
Gynaecologists (FRCOG) and undertook a Doctorate at the Oxford Maternal and Perinatal Health Institute
as a Clinical Research Fellow.
Following specialty training at several major London teaching hospitals, Dr Sarris completed subspecialty
training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery in Newcastle, gaining dual accreditation with the General
Medical Council before returning to London as a fertility consultant.
He is the Chair-elect of the British Fertility Society (BFS), and currently serves as Chair of the BFS Training
Subcommittee.
Dr Sarris has authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications, contributed to more than 30 consortia papers,
and written two textbooks and 10 invited chapters across eight additional titles. He is also actively
involved in education, mentoring trainee doctors through the King’s Fertility Research Fellowship
Programme and supervising MD and PhD candidates at King’s College London.
