Dr. Khalid Mohammed Akkour is an Associate Professor and Consultant in Gynecologic Oncology at King Saud University Medical City, where he also heads the Gyne Oncology Unit. He has served in key leadership roles including Chairman of the Obstetrics & Gynecology Department at KSUMC (2019–2023) and currently works as Regional and Hospital Chief Medical Officer at Interhealth Hospital.
Dr. Akkour completed his medical degree at King Saud University and pursued advanced training in Canada, earning his FRCSC and completing a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology at Université de Montréal. He also holds master’s degrees in Biomedical Science and in Health Leadership (IMHL) from McGill University.
A specialist in gynecologic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and robotic surgery (da Vinci S, SI, XI systems), Dr. Akkour has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications and leads multiple ongoing research projects in gynecologic oncology and genetics within the Saudi population. He is also a frequent national speaker in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery.
